Our mobile oyster bar is more than just your average pop-up food vendor. We are a unique offering with an eye-catching presence, that will generate excitement for all event-goers. We also enjoy working alongside fellow caterers. Our contribution is limited to oysters, we are never wanting to compete but to only compliment.

OYSTER MASTERCLASS

Your home is the classroom. Two and a half hours of in-depth learning. History, geography, flavours, technique and wine…our expert oystermen will ensure you leave educated, entertained and most importantly merry!

 

Curriculum:

 

  • History – Max will take you on a journey of discovery. Together we will cover the history of the humble oyster, North Norfolk heritage and our own personal stories that inspired us to create The Thornham Oyster Co.
  • Geography – We will explore the variety in species, the waters that they can be found in and the difference that can make to flavour.
  • Flavours – First we start naked, served simply on ice, chilled to perfection. We will then travel together on this gastronomic voyage, discovering new flavours, pairing combinations and how to create the classic serves yourself.
  • Technique – Our shuckers will demonstrate and guide you through the process of how to shuck an oyster the correct way. Each student will have their own shucking knife and cut-proof gloves.
  • Wine – We have meticulously explored and carefully selected some of the finest, yet perfectly paired wines to enhance the oyster tasting experience. Flint Vineyard’s Bacchus, Chapel Down’s English Sparkling Wine and their Kit’s Coty Blanc de Blancs. This trio in our humble opinion is impossible to beat.
